Bio
Norbert currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer at East Penn Manufacturing with responsibilities for Research & Development, Product Process and Equipment Engineering, EH&S and Quality and Continuous Improvement. East Penn Manufacturing is the largest privately held battery manufacturer in the world with over 10,000 employees. He has been with the company since March of 2018. Prior to joining East Penn, Norbert started his career in the lead acid battery business in 1991 at Banner Batteries in Austria. He holds a bachelor degree in chemical engineering and a master degree in business administration. At Banner he held several positions in Research and Development and in 2005 he was appointed to the Technical Director with responsibilities in production, maintenance, quality management and research & development. He was leading several projects with car manufacturers and most importantly was leading the development for an AGM battery for Stop-Start application for BMW. In 2013 he joined Exide Technologies as a Vice President of Research & Development EMEA with responsibilities for the Transportation as well as the Industrial Battery Business. He was involved in many projects together with the CBI consortium and is currently a member of the Technical Advisory Board of the CBI. In 2012 Norbert received the International Lead Award from the ILA for his contribution in Battery Design, Production Engineering and Quality Assurance.
