Bio

Dr. Bernhard Riegel received his PhD in 1994 from the University of Stuttgart in the field of inorganic chemistry. He then completed several research stays, including at the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research in Stuttgart, followed by a research stay at the University of Texas at Austin. From 1998 to 2000 he worked at the Center for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research (ZSW) in Ulm, in the field of electrochemical storage technologies, lead-acid and NiMH. He has been working in research and development at HOPPECKE Batteries GmbH & Co. KG since 2001. In 2003, he took over the responsibility of research and development for the entire HOPPECKE group for alkaline and lead-acid batteries. With the development and founding of HOPPECKE Advanced Battery Technology GmbH (INTILION GmbH) in 2007, he introduced lithium-ion technology for the industrial battery market at HOPPECKE.


Dr. Riegel, is an Advisory Board member of Battery Research Germany (BMBF), Associate Delegate of BEPA for battery manufacturers (Battery European Partnership), Advisory Board member of FFB Münster and Task Force Innovation Leader EUROBAT.
