It’s gastronomical

An appetizing location for ELBC

What could be a more appetizing location for ELBC than Lyon, the culinary capital of France?

Famous for its traditional Lyonnaise restaurants called bouchons, which originated from small inns visited by silk workers in past centuries, they form the backdrop for ELBC’s 2022 conference.

Serving hearty, rustic fare on red-and-white chequered tablecloths, about 22 bouchons are officially certified in Lyon, a city which boasts more than 4,000 restaurants.

And for fine dining you are spoilt for choice by the many restaurants which have helped gain Lyon its gastronomic reputation, all located close to this year’s ELBC venue, the Congres de Lyon.

In France, fine food is accompanied by the finest wine. Lyon is located in the second largest wine-producing region in France, on the banks of the river Rhone. And if you want to visit the region you can take a meandering trip through the different vineyards and wine routes making the region famous across the world.

A daily part of European life are food markets, and Lyon is no different with it’s indoor and outdoor markets offering the finest local and regional produce. Take a trip to La Croix Rousse and St Antoine, or head indoors to Les Halles de Lyon for a taste of Lyon. From food and drinks to flowers and herbs, the markets are a truly local experience for ELBC delegates.

We’re excited to see you in Lyon this September for an unmissable week of technical innovation and gastonomical experiences.
